Salem and Mt. Vernon Girls Bowling Teams Headed to State
The Salem High School Girl's bowling team has won the Mt. Vernon Sectional and is headed to state. Mt. Vernon finished second and will also head to state next Friday and Saturday in Rockford.Salem finished the Sectional with 5,453 pins. Second place Mt. Vernon had 5,260. Centralia was ninth, with 4,874 pins.
Salem sophomore Morgan Vanhoutin led the 'Cats, with a number two finish as an individual. She had 1,217 pins, just 42 shy of first place finisher Rebecca Stricklin of Harrisburg. Salem's other scorers were Lindsey Fogliasso with 1,149 points, Amber Kanter with 1,018, Kayla Harris with 876, Tristen McGee with 706, Ciara Stone with 322 and Kim Weidemer with 165.
Mt. Vernon was led by Makayla Emshoff with 1,115 points. Olivia Rios had 1,058, Taylor Allen 1,051, Alyssa Dudley with 1,026, and Brooke Phillips with 1,010.
