(MT ZION) - The Salem Lady Wildcats snapped their four-match Apollo losing skid with a 25-20, 25-15 road win at Mt Zion.  It's the first win in 9 matches for Salem since they hosted Mt Zion back on September 25.


(CLAY CITY) - The Sandoval Lady Blackhawks opened up the Midland Trail Conference tournament with three losses at Clay City Junior High School on Thursday night.

Sandoval fell 25-8, 25-5 to Noble, 25-21, 25-8 to Grayville and then 25-13, 25-12 to Clay City.  Bethany Kunick had 5 kills and Carley Morris 4 assists in the losses.

Sandoval will host rival Odin on Monday for Senior Night.  Sandoval will honor Kenzi Saatkamp, Madison Crawford, Mackenzie Roper and Manager Brittney Meyer.

Sandoval will open up play in the Wayne City Regional October 22nd at 6pm versus Odin.


(CENTRALIA) - The Christ Our Rock Silver Stallions finished unbeaten in the regular season for the first time following their 25-20, 25-14 win over Ramsey.  The Stallion finish off their regular season at 17-0 and win the Egyptian Illini Conference crown with a 7-0 mark.

Janie Goodin had 9 service points to lead COR, Amanda Geiger had 10 kills and Rachael Lape added 6 kills and 7 assists.

Before the match, the Stallions honored Manager Gabby Orr, Caitlin Fuehne, Amara Lyons and Megan Pick.

COR opens up pool play in the EIC Tournament at St Elmo on Monday night and will play Brownstown, Patoka and Beecher City.  The other pool will feature 2nd seed St Elmo, Cowden Herrick, Mulberry Grove and Ramsey.


(EFFINGHAM) - The South Central Lady Cougars won the opening two matches in the National Trail Conference Tournament held at  St Anthony High School in Effingham. 

The Lady Cougars (21-7) opened up with a 25-14, 25-16 win over the hosts.  Lexi Schafer had 9 points and 4 aces in the win, Lincoln Brasel added 9 kills and Maria Brasel had 10 assists.

SC then defeated Brownstown in a tough 3 set match losing 23-25 before their 25-12, 25-13 wins to take the match.  Lincoln Brasel led the Cougars with 12 service points and 13 kills.  Kallie Garrett had 10 kills and Maria Brasel added 15 assists.

Pool play will finish up tonight as SC takes on St Elmo at 7pm.
