Salem Travels to Effingham Tonight
The Salem Wildcats have three regular season games remainingbefore post-season play begins, and after tonight, just one more week remains
in the regular season.
The Wildcats are on the road tonight for their
second-to-last Apollo Conference game of the season as they take on the
Effingham Flaming Hearts. Effingham sits atop the league with a 7-1 conference
record, and a win tonight will give Effingham High School an Apollo Conference
Championship sweep of the 2012-13 basketball season.
Salem junior Nick Conklin has been on a tear as of late,
scoring 55 points over Salem’s previous two games, including 24 in Salem’s loss
earlier this week to the hot-shooting Olney Tigers. Olney hit ten tree-pointers
in the Tuesday night contest to win 64-50.
Salem’s last win came on the road at Paris on January 25,
and the Cats lost 71-44 in their previous meeting with Effingham back on
January 11.
The Wildcats and the Hearts meet tonight in Effingham at
7:45. Catch the game with Bill Hawley and Greg Mehochko on 100.1 FM WJBD and
WJBDRadio.com.
