WJBD - Local Sports - Salem Hosts Mattoon on Senior Night

The Salem Wildcats are at home for the final time in the

2012-2013 season tonight when they host the Mattoon Green Wave at BE Gumm

Gymnasium.

Salem hopes to pick up their second win over Mattoon and

fourth overall tonight in front of the home crowd packed in for Senior Night.

The Cats have been off since last week’s loss at Charleston.

The ‘Cats cut a ten-point deficit to three by halftime, but then the Trojans

changed defenses and Salem got caught forcing passes and giving the ball away.

Salem needs to return to smart gameplay and working the ball

inside to the post and the high percentage shots. The Wildcats will also need

to bear down on defense and limit Mattoon’s extra opportunities.

The Wildcats look to go 2-0 against Mattoon in conference

play, and the game will be heard tonight on 100.1 FM WJBD and WJBDRadio.com at

7:45 with Bill Hawley providing the call.
