Salem High School Cross Country Team Finishes 25th In State

The Salem High School Cross Country team finished 25th in state Saturday.

Salem was led in the Class 1A state championship run at Detweiler Park in Peoria by sophomore Brenner Webster. He finished in 103rd place with a time of 16 minutes 50 seconds. Webster was followed by Kyle Rogers who finished 116th, Michael Owens 149th, Quinton Goostree 152nd, and Elliot Brinkmeyer 158th. All their scores were added together to determine Salem's team score. Salem's two other runners, Nathan Helm finished 163rd and Caleb Willman169th.

Champaign St. Thomas More won the Class 1A boys meet. Grant Nykaza of Beecher was the top individual finisher, with a time of 14 minutes 22 seconds.
