Salem Girls Bowling Team Fifth in StateThe Salem Girls Bowling team has finished fifth in state.
The team scored 11,785 pins, 727 pins behind the winning school Aurora (Waubonsie Valley). The only other teams from Southern Illinois, Collinsville and O'Fallon finished eighth and ninth.
Salem was led by Senior Lindsey Fogliasso with 2,502 pins. She finished 17th in state as an individual. Morgan Vanhoutin had 2,482 pins in 24th place. Amber Kantner finished with 2,385 pins in 44th place. Kayla Harris finished fourth for the Lady 'Cats with 2,099 pins even without one of her rounds counting towards the final score. Others scoring points by being in the top five in individual rounds were Tristen McGee with 1,439 points, Desiree Shults with 567, and Kim Weidemer with 311.
