Lady Wildcays Fall to Visiting Shoes; Girls Basketball ScoreboardSalem -- The Teutopolis Lady Wooden Shoes out-scored Salem 19-4 in the third quarter en route to a 47-30 victory for the visitors.
Salem trailed 19-16 as the teams emerged from the locker rooms at the halftime break, but a stifling trap defense from the Lady Shoes triggered several turnovers from the Lady Cats and the guests converted those turnovers into points. T-Town junior Madeline Hartke led all scorers with 19 points in the game. Her consistent level of play helped her team to their second win over Salem this season.
Annie Tucker led Salem's scoring with 10 points as the hosts failed to record their third straight win.
The Lady Wildcats head back to Apollo Conference play on Monday when they travel to Mattoon.
