Salem-Carlyle Meet in Junior Legion Title Game

Salem and Carlyle will meet in the championship game of the Greenville Junior American Legion Baseball Tournament at 4:30 Sunday afternoon.

Salem advanced with a 9-1 win over Altamont, while Carlyle beat Urbana 6-4 on Saturday to move into the championship game.  

Riley Martin threw a four hitter for Salem.   Salem took a 1-0 lead in the first and added five more in the second on a two run double from Dakota McDaneld and RBI singles from Martin, Roudy Hensley and Zach Consolino.  Salem added three more runs in the fifth inning on a two run double from Cole Steward and a groundout by Will Fulkerson that scored the final run.  

The win improved the Salem Junior Legion Team to 16-3 on the season.
