Salem Boys Basketball Team Falls To 0-4 With Loss To HerrinThe Salem Wildcats fell to 0-4 with a 51 to 42 loss to Herrin in their final game in the Pyramid Plus Tournament Saturday night.
Salem was up by as much as 31 to 22 in the third quarter before Herrin instituted a 1-3-1 trapping zone to shut down the Cats and earn the come from behind win. Salem led 14 to 11 at the end of the first quarter and 25 to 22 at half-time. Salem was also hampered by 22 turnovers.
Alex Phillips led Salem with 14 points. Nick Conklin added 11. Justin Lukins led Herrin with 21 points. Both Salem and Herrin had entered the final game of the tournament at 0-3.
Salem hosts Paris in their next game on Friday night.
