Reiter Wins St. Theresa Invitational Girls' Race
The annual cross country invitational was held Saturday at Bryan Memorial Park.
Jenna Reiter won the girls' race with a time of 11:54. Reiter was the only runner to finish the race under twelve minutes. Teammates Madison Quandt and Chloee Phillips finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Quandt's time was 12:16 while Phillips was two seconds back.
The performances of Salem's top three weren't enough t win, however, as O'Fallon Carriel had five runners in the top twenty. Triad put four runners in the top twenty, including three top-ten finishes, to place second as a team.
The Franklin Park Bobcats placed second behind O'Fallon Fulton at the Rascal Invite.
Hayden Wimberly finished in sixth place with a time of 11:09, and teammates Damond Crosby and Dawson Webster finished nineteenth and twentieth, with times of 11:52 and 11:53, respectively.
Selmaville's Dawson Linder finished second with a time of 10:51. Trent Burton of Odin took ninth place with a time of 11:17.
Triad finished third as a team.
Plans are already in motion for next year's Invitational, which will be held on Saturday, September 27.
