The St. Theresa Rascals are champions of the 2013 St. Peter Invitational after beating Kell and having a higher free throw percentage than Sandoval and Patoka, as all three teams went 3-1 in the tournament.
Throughout the tournament, Patoka beat the Rascals, who beat Sandoval, who last night beat the Mohawks.
St. Theresa opened the final night of the tournament with a 41-16 rout of Kell. The Rascals did their damage in the second half, as the score at the break was 11-8. Levi Cannon led St. Theresa with 17 points. Brandon Dodson scored eight to lead Kell.
The Rascals owe a thank-you card to Sandoval, who topped previously unbeaten Patoka 33-31 in a thrilling tournament finale. Sandoval led 14-12 at halftime and each team had a quarter in the second half that they dominated. Sandoval put together a run in the fourth quarter to bump their Highway 51 rivals from the championship circle. Anthony Reed led Sandoval with 16 points while Bryce Bryan had eleven. Koltan Walker paced the Mohawks with 18 points and Devin Back added eleven.
Kell finished the tournament 1-3 while St. Peter went 0-4.
