Patoka Wins St Theresa Tournament...Junior High Scores(SALEM) - Patoka won the 29th annual St Theresa Thanksgiving Tournament holding off Central City 52-45. Jered Cain led all scorers with 33 points and Garrett Belcher added 9. Lucas Bone had 16 and Jakob Shuck added 13.
In the third place game it took overtime for Altamont Lutheran to defeat Odin 38-35. Austin Kline had 10 points in the win for Altamont while Eric Schoonover had 13 and Caleb Clark 12 for Odin.
On the first team all-tournament were Jered Cain and Garrett Belcher of Patoka, Caleb Harpster of St Peter, Eric Schoonover of Odin and Jakob Shuck of Central City.
On the second team, Brock Smith of Kell, Altamont Lutheran's Jesus Flores and Austin Kline, Brandyn Easley of St Theresa and Anthony Mays of Central City.
- The Sandoval Jr. Blackhawks dropped their home opener against Irvington/North Wamac 65-45. The Hawks were down by 19 at the half and fought back within 9 points in the third, but the visiting Eagles were too much. The Jr Blackhawks (4-6) were led by Garrett Howell with 26 and Bryson Smith added 13.
- Iuka lost to Summersville 65-40.
- In girls basketball, Selmaville defeated St Mary's (Mt. Vernon) Lady Knights 40-23. Selmaville's leading scorer was Emily Wade with 15. Selmaville is now 9-3.
