Morehead State Holds Off Eastern Illinois 85-77CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) - Chad Posthumus scored 19 points for Morehead State and added 14 rebounds as the Eagles pushed past Eastern Illinois 85-77 in Ohio Valley Conference play on Saturday.
Eastern Illinois (4-10, 1-2) gave up its lead with 6:37 to go, but kept the score close (70-67) with less than three minutes to play. Kareem Storey made four straight free throws and Morehead State got all 12 of its points in the final two minutes from the line. Storey was a perfect 12 of 12 on free throws and finished with 14 points.
Morehead State (11-6, 2-0) got 35 points from its bench - including the 19 from Posthumus - and scored 25 points off turnovers.
Reggie Smith scored 20 points for the Panthers and Chris Olivier added 19. Eastern Illinois finished 17 of 25 on free throws after going 1 of 2 in the first half.
