Lindsay Whalen added 14 points for Minnesota, which trailed 64-63 in the final two minutes.
Allie Quigley led the Sky with 20 points. They opened the second half on a 9-0 run to take their first lead.
Minnesota held Chicago to 24 first-half points, but the Sky rallied to threaten to hand the Lynx their second home loss of the season.
