Lady Cats and Centralia Pull Off Wins, Salem Boys Drop Nail Bitter
The Salem Wildcats blew a 6 point lead with 1:36 to play and Greenville came back to beat the Wildcats 59-56 at the Pinckneyville Shootout. Salem led 53-47 with 1:36 but missed Free Throws by the Cats down the stretch spelled doom. Salem fell to 3-15 on the season and will have a week off before traveling to Charleston on Friday night.
The Centralia Orphans were able to salvage a win in a game that came down to the final minutes. They pulled out a 55-54 win over Jerseyville when Jerod Simmons-Young first tied the game when he tipped in a shot just before the buzzer and after being fouled on the play shot the winning free throw with no time left. At one point in the fourth quarter, Centralia was up ten points.
