Lady Cats Hope Momentum Carries into Highland Tourney

The Salem Lady Wildcats begin their Scott Credit Union

Highland Girls Tournament on today against the Salem Thanksgiving champion

Carlyle Lady Indians. Salem is 2-1 since their 2nd place finish at the Mattoon

Holiday Tournament and they Lady Cats have improved each and every time out in

their past 5 games. The young Lady Cats are looking to keep that momentum...

and learning going into one of the toughest tournaments in the state at this

time of year in girls’ basketball.

The loaded field begins at 9am with the Mascoutah champion

Nashville Hornettes taking on Triad followed by Micah Jones and the state

ranked Cowden Herrick Beecher City team taking on South Central conference

Hillsboro. Belleville West will play Althoff in the noon game with that winner

taking on the winner of Salem and Carlyle.

The bottom part of the bracket begins at 3pm when state

ranked Breese Central, steaming from their 2nd place finish at Mascoutah, takes

on Vandalia. The host Lady Bulldogs of Highland will take on Okawville. T-Town

get's O'Fallon at 6 and then Mater Dei will take on Nokomis at 7:30.
