Lady Cats Drop Two at Mt Zion

The Salem Lady

Wildcats dropped a pair of Apollo games Saturday at Mt. Zion.

Salem was a little

sluggish in the first game, losing 10-1. Mallory Daniels pitched three innings

and suffered the loss. She allowed seven runs on five hits while walking three

and striking out one. Ashley West pitched three innings of relief, giving up

four hits and three runs. Daniels led Salem at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an

RBI. Daniels brought around West in the third inning for Salem’s lone run.

Things went from

bad to worse for the Lady Cats as the day went on, as Salem committed seven

errors in the second game on the way to a 13-3 loss in six innings. The Lady

Wildcats led briefly after their half of the second when they took a 3-1 lead.

But the Lady Braves answered for four runs in the home half of the second and never

looked back. Chelsey Lane tossed for Salem, giving up ten hits while walking

three. Daniels had a single and a double and drove in two runs. Heather Henson

had a pair of doubles.

Salem is back in action today, hosting Benton.
