Lady Cats Drop Close Game at Marion

Salem lost their second consecutive one-run game when the

Lady Cats lost at Marion 4-3 Monday afternoon.

Salem scored their three runs in the second inning to take a

3-1 lead but Marion scored two runs in the seventh inning to walk off their

field with a win.

Mallory Daniels suffered the loss for Salem, pitching all

seven innings, giving up six hits while walking three and striking out four.

Daniels intentionally walked the potential game-winning run in the bottom of

the seventh, only to have the next batter lace a walk-off two-run double down

the right field line.

Salem scattered five hits in the contest.

The Lady Wildcats travel to Fairfield tomorrow afternoon.
