Kaskaskia Cross Country Teams Compete in St. LouisThe Kaskaskia College cross country teams traveled to Forest Park in St. Louis for the 8th annual Fall Festival Cross Country race hosted by St. Louis
University and the Big River Running Club of Missouri.
The twelve-school meet featured schools of various sizes across the Midwest. The Arkansas State University Red Wolves men and women won the meet, as the women finished with twenty points while the men racked up forty team points.
The KC Blue Devils finished eighth in their best performance of the season to date. Elliott Brinkmeyer of Salem ran the 6K course in 22:03, with teammate AJ Abert of Alhambra three seconds behind. Another Salem native, Jacob Heser, finished third among Blue Devil runners with a time of 22:30.
In the 5K race, the Blue Angels finished 10th, improving as a team. Laura Pick, who attended both Nashville and Christ Star Rock, paced Kaskaskia with a 22:25 time. SCHS alum Brittany Goff finished fourth among the Blue Angels with a time of 24:34.
The Kaskaskia College cross country teams compete next Saturday at SIU-Carbondale.
