Kaskaskia College gains Salem Grad

Kaskaskia College is pleased to announce Salem basketball standout Morgan Hawkins has signed to play for the Blue Angels for the 2013-14 Season.

Salem Coach Janet Holst says “It's great to see one of our local kids in the KC program.  Morgan comes from a program that requires much hard work and dedication and that discipline will be an asset to her as she enters the next level.  I hope everything she learned through her high school program will help provide an example to those around her.  Morgan is a leader by example and is always going to give 110%!".”

Hawkins stats include scoring 10.23 points per game; 2.57 steals per game; 3.73 deflections and 2.73 rebounds.  She also finished with a 61% free throw average.

Kaskaskia College Coach Shane Larson says, “We are very excited about the addition of Morgan Hawkins to the Blue Angel basketball program. Her speed and athleticism will be beneficial in our backcourt. She has played at very high level coming from Salem high school. Coming from that program we know that we are getting an outstanding fundamental basketball player that knows how to win. We are excited to see Morgan on the court this fall.
