Kaskaskia College Cross Country Team Competes at PeoriaThe Kaskaskia College women's cross country team finished 11th and the men's cross country team 13th at the 27th annual Bradley University Intercollegiate Cross Country meet held at Historic Detweiller Park north of Peoria along the Illinois River.
Both the men and the women of Bradley won the four mile men's championship race and the three mile women's race.
The Kaskaskia Blue Angels tallied 317 points to take 11th place. The Angels were lead by sophomore Laura Pick (Nashville, IL) in a time of 22.01, she was followed by frosh Brittany Goff (Salem) in 23.55, next were Julie and Emily Waldhoff (Teutopolis) both with the time of 23.58. The Blue Angels final counter was Sabyl Whitelow (Centralia) in 24.40.
The Blue Devils finished finished with 329 points to take 13th place. The Blue Devils were lead by frosh Preston Burkett (Salem) in a time of 23.32 over the 4 miles. Sophomore AJ Abert (Alhambra) in 24.02, next was Jacob Heser (Salem) 24.48, Elloitt Brinkmeyer (Salem) 25.08 and the fifth counter was Jesse Miller (Teutopolis) 25.46.
The Kaskaskia Cross Country teams will travel to Forest Park on September 13th for a meet hosted by St. Louis University, start time 5:30.
