Kaskaskia All Star Game Today

Seniors from Salem, South Central, and Sandoval will join players from other Kaskaskia College district schools for today's Third Annual Kaskaskia College Boys All-Star Basketball Game.

The game gets underway at 4pm at Kaskaskia College.

Salem's Nick Hempen and Alex Phillips join South Central's Rudy Hablewitz and Fischer Tharp on the home team.

Sandoval's Travis Michael will play for the visiting team.

A rarity in all-star games will also occur, as players from the same school will be on opposing teams in today's contest.

Christ Our Rock's Tyler Burmester and Kyle Hahn will play for the home team while class- and teammates Lukas Miller and Hayden Klockenga will be on the visiting squad.

The home team will be coached by Stallions' Head Coach Mike Shaffer. The visitors will be coached by Carlyle's Andy Palmer.

#12 Fischer Tharp 6’3 South Central HS averaged 15 ppg, 7 rpg, 4 assts, and 2 steals. Two timeTeam MVP, Three Time Scoring Leader and 1000 points scored for his career.

#35 Nick Hempen 6’4 Salem HS averaged 7.7 ppg, 7.8 rpg. “Most Improved” Player Award forthe Salem Wildcats.

#3 Connor Obermeier 5’11 Okawville HS averaged 4.3 ppg, 1.5 rpg, and 1.2 assts for his 24-8team. He was a member of the Okawville Thanksgiving Tournament Championship team.

#10 Jeremy Weeke 6’4 Okawville HS averaged 18.4 ppg, 10 rbds and 3 assts for his 24-8 team.He is the fifth all-time leading scorer in Okawville history. 1st Team AP, 1st team IBCA, and 1stteam All-Area for the Belleville News Democrat.

#10 Travis Michael 5’10 Sandoval HS averaged 6.2 ppg and 5.5 rpg.#20 Jake Hensler 6’3 Okawville HS averaged 10.4 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.0 apg for his 24-8 team thatfinished 1st place in the Okawville Thanksgiving Tournament.

#21 Scott Brown 6’2 Nashville HS averaged 9.1 ppg, 3.4 rpg for his 24-8 team. All South, All-SIRR, IBCA All-State special mention and was selected as Team MVP.

#33 Kyler Scheer 6’6 Breese Central HS averaged 11.7 ppg, 6.5 rpg for his 22-10 team. Memberof the 2012 State Championship team. All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-Area.
