The Fighting Illini have a tough challenge ahead tonight

when eighth-ranked Minnesota comes to Champaign. After a dominating win against

Ohio State on Saturday, a game in which first-year head coach John Groce’s

squad never trailed, it would be understandable if Illinois struggled to get up

for this game. But if the Illini are going to compete for a conference title, a

win tonight is not only necessary, but it will put more distance between the

team out on the court in the future and the team that lost to Purdue in last
