Hornettes Advance to Championship Game
The Nashville Hornettes will play for the state title todayafter last night’s convincing 50-29 win over Walther Lutheran in the state
semifinal game. Nashville controlled the tempo of the game, taking away the
Broncos’ fast-paced attack. Walther Lutheran managed just two points off of
their fast break as Nashville improved to 32-2 on the season. The Hornettes
also out-rebounded the Broncos 34-33. Shaye Harre led Nashville with nineteen
points. Despite this being their eighth trip to state under Coach Wayne Harre,
this is the first time Nashville will be playing for the state title. The
Hornettes will face St. Thomas More out of Champaign, who defeated El Paso 62-48,
for the state title later today.
