Hearts, Tigers Claim SIT Wins

In the opening night of the Salem Invitational Tournament,

Effingham and Edwardsville posted wins and will face each other in the

semifinals Friday night. Effingham snuck past Mt Vernon 42-36 before the Tigers

ran past Mattoon 72-38. Mattoon will face Mt Vernon in the consolation semis on

Saturday. The SIT continues tonight when Marion and Triad square off at 7pm.

Salem and Centralia will renew their rivalry tonight at 8:30. That game can be

heard tonight on 100.1 FM WJBD and streaming online at WJBDRadio.com.
