Franklin Park Tunes Up For State

(HIGHLAND) - The Franklin Park boys and girls both have high expectations heading into this weekend's Large School state cross country meet at Benton.  Salem warmed up with a trip to the Highland Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.

Jenna Reiter, who came up from the JV ranks towards the end of the season and has been stellar, finished as the lead Bobcat with a 6th place finish in a time of 11:55.  Drew Britton was also in the top-10 with a 9th place finish in a time of 11:58.  There were a total of 126 runners in the girls race.

The varsity boys were lead by Hayden Wimberly who finished with a 3rd place time of 10:22 followed in the top ten by Caden Owens sixth in 10:38 and Blake Quandt 9th in 10:48.  There were 130 runners in the varsity boys race. 

The small school state meet will be held in Salem on Saturday.
