Franklin Park Loses to Carlyle
TheFranklin Park Girls Basketball season came to an end last night when the
Bobcats lost a 35-30 decision to Carlyle in the opening round of the Centralia
Regional. Salem started slow, trailing 8-4 after the first quarter. But
Franklin Park cut the deficit in half by halftime and the game was tied 22-all
after the third frame before Carlyle pulled away in the fourth for the win.
Hayley Gregg and Kaitlynn Maxey led Franklin Park in scoring with eight points
apiece. Hailey Wimberly had five rebounds to lead the team. The Lady Bobcats
finish their season with an 8-13 record.
The
Selmaville Lady Rockets claimed victory in their regional semifinal game last
night, posting a 34-33 win over Trinity Hoffman at Christ Our Rock Lutheran
High School. The win upped Selmaville’s record to 17-6. Emily Wade paced the
Lady Rockets with fifteen points. Izzy Marshall chipped in fourteen. Selmaville
will face Bartelso for the Regional Championship Saturday.
The
Rome Hornets picked up a win in the Hoyleton Tournament last night, defeating
St. Rose 47-21. Blake Wollerman led Rome with thirteen points. Chris Hufford
added twelve for the Hornets who improve to 15-4.
