Elliott and Defense Good for Blues So FarEL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) - Jonathan Quick got much of the credit during the Los Angeles Kings' run to the Stanley Cup last year. The goalie also says he's to blame for the Kings' two losses to St. Louis in their current series.
Quick's teammates know that's simply not true.
A goalie isn't supposed to score goals - and unless the Kings start finding the Blues' net in Game 3 on Saturday night, their Stanley Cup defense will be over quickly.
Los Angeles has only two goals in the series, neither at even strength. The Kings aren't generating shots or good chances against Brian Elliott.
The Kings know it's vital to avoid a 0-3 series deficit. They put all four of their opponents in 0-3 holes last spring during their 16-4 rampage through the postseason.
