EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) - Olympic silver medalist Dawn Harper was honored with a parade in her hometown of East St. Louis.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports Harper rode down State Street in East St. Louis on Thursday. Harper won a silver medal in the 100-meter hurdles this summer during the Olympic Games in London. She won a gold medal in the same event at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Harper's parade through the city ended at East St. Louis High School.

Fellow Olympic gold medalist and East St. Louis native Jackie Joyner Kersee attended the event for Harper.
