Centralia Sonics Split with Effingham

The Centralia SuperSonics 14U softball team split a double

header with Effingham Wednesday.

Effingham took the first game 8-3 as Centralia amassed just

five hits. Three of those five were for extra bases. Bailey Spears went 2-3

with a double. Sydney Hoerchler went 1-3 with a triple. Lexi Knox went 1-3 with

a double and Casey Little added a base hit.

Chloe Wendling was the losing pitcher in the first game but

came back and got the win in game two, a 3-1 verdict in favor of the Sonics. Little

went 1-2 at the plate while Kameron Kelly went 1-3. Brooke Burcham was 2-2 in

the nightcap.

 

The Sonics improved their record to 19-6 and return to

action Saturday at Kaskaskia College. KC will be the site of a tri-match

between the Sonics, the SI Bandits, and the SI Sting.
