(ST. LOUIS) -- The Cardinals will have their All-Star at the hot corner for at least one more season.
The St. Louis Cardinals avoided salary arbitration with third baseman David Freese by agreeing to a one-year deal on Friday.
Freese, a St. Louis native, hit .293 with 20 home runs and 79 RBIs this past season. He also earned his first All-Star appearance for his efforts.
The fourth year player won the 2011 World Series MVP in the Cardinal's championship run against the Texas Rangers.
The Cardinals have now agreed to terms with all arbitration-eligible players.
