CORHLS Tee Off Golf Scramble(CENTRALIA) - The 9th annual Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School Tee Off Golf Scramble was held on Sunday, September 16 at Greenview Golf Course in Centralia. Thanks to the beautiful weather, the high spirited golfers enjoyed 18 holes of golf and dinner.
The event was hosted at the always challenging Greenview Golf Course. Don Duensing, principal of Christ Our Rock, stated, "After the very dry summer and wet fall, the Greenview GC staff has done a wonderful job keeping the course in great shape."
"It is always humbling to see the community support for Christ Our Rock. They see the results of our education and ministry. The Lord has truly blessed the school and all involved in so many ways," commented Duensing.
Prizes were awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams in two flights. The winning team which shot a 56 (14 under) and consister of Dan Kueper, Skip Wilson, Kevin Foppe and Trent Purcell. The afternoon was packed with additional contests including longest drives, longest putts, closest to the pins, hole-in-ones, skins and a putting contest. After the round of golf, the golfers were treated to dinner provided by Wargo's Restaurant and an awards ceremony.
The golf scramble is one of CORLHS's major fund raisers and provides funds to help accomplish daily operations. The tournament profited $8,400 which will go directly to the education of the students.
