Bobcats Go 1-1 at Own TournamentThe Franklin Park Bobcats held their annual Bobcat Tournament Saturday, splitting action with Harrisburg and Collinsville.
Salem dropped a close one to Harrisburg, losing 2-0. Both the Bulldogs and the Bobcats had just four hits apiece. Max Phillips went 2-3. Nate Roth was 1-3, and Isaak Hays finished 1-2. Phillips was the losing pitcher, striking out six over seven innings.
Franklin Park closed out the Bobcat Tourney with a 17-9 win over Collinsville. Nate Roth started on the mound, but surrendered seven runs in the first inning. Trevor Banning tossed five innings of relief, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out four to earn the win. Eight Bobcats recorded at least one hit. Banning went 3-3 with an RBI and three runs scored. Jacob Harness went 2-2, drove in two runs and scored three more. Matt Davis finished 2-3 with an RBI. Isaak Hays had two runs batted in.
Franklin Part hosts Rome Tuesday afternoon.
