Youth May Be Charged for Throwing Cup at Police CarA Marion County Sheriff's Deputy will let the State's Attorney's office decide if criminal damage to property charges should be filed against a 16-year-old Irvington juvenile boy who hurled a full styrofoam cup full of soda at his squad car late Sunday night.
The cup hit with enough force to dent the hood of the squad car. The incident occurred as the two vehicles were passing each other going the opposite directions on U.S. 50 between Odin and Salem. The deputy thinks the five teens in the car were very surprised when they found out they had struck a squad car with the soda.
The juvenile who allegedly threw the soda was ticketed with littering. The 17-year-old Irvington male juvenile driving the car was ticketed for driving after curfew.
