Wayne County School Teacher Commits Suicide

By Will Doolin, WJBD News

A veteran Wayne County school teacher took his own life Tuesday night.  WFIW Radio of Fairfield reports 63-year-old Charles Lane of Geff committed suicide Tuesday.  His wife found him shortly after 6 p.m. at the couple's home.

Wayne County Coroner Jimmy Taylor says the educator died from a gunshot wound to the head from a handgun. Services are pending at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.

Lane was a social science teacher at Cisne High School, and taught in the North Wayne School District for 42-years.  He also served as the Varsity Scholastic Bowl Coach.  Cisne High School is in the same athletic conference as the Odin and Sandoval School Districts in Marion County.  Cisne is located about 35-miles southeast of Salem.
