Vallas Doesn't Want Local Schools To Pay Teacher Pensions(Chicago, IL) -- Governor Quinn's running mate says he not a fan of having local schools pay more for teacher pensions.
Lieutenant Governor candidate Paul Vallas made that remark yesterday before the "Daily Herald" editorial board. He added that for every rich district that can afford to pay the retirement pay for teachers and administrators, there's a poor district that can't.
Chicago Schools already pay the employers' share of teacher pension costs, but suburban and downstate schools don't.
