Two Burglaries and Theft Under Investigation in Marion County

By Bruce Kropp, WJBD News

The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating a residential burglary at the Scott Marcum residence on Route 161 east of Centralia.   Marcum's son discovered the break in when he came home around 9:30 Friday night.  His xBox was missing and all the drawers were found open.  Electronic items and jewelry were also reported as missing.

A rural Salem woman reported her mobile home entered sometime before 11:30 Friday night.  Dana Jackson of Farside Lane told sheriff's deputies a smart phone and medication were taken.

A Patoka man, Blake Hyde of Effingham Street, reported that a truck load of scrap along with a bathtub were stolen from a home he was in the process of tearing down on East Effingham Street.
