Two Accidents in Clay County
36-year-old Jeremy Kone of Flora was injured when his car crossed the center line of U.S. 50 at the Clay County Blacktop and hit the left drivers side of an on-coming semi driven by 58-year-old Joseph Logue of Farina. After the crash, Kone's car went into the roadside ditch while the semi was disabled on the highway. Kone was airlifted from the scene to Deaconnes Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Logue escaped injury. Kone was ticketed for improper lane usage. The crash occurred at 3:05 Thursday afternoon.
The other crash occurred n U.S. 45 just south of the Effingham County Line. State Police say 60-year-old Heather Rodgers of Mason was north bound on U.S. 45 when she left the right side of the roadway and struck the guardrail. Her pickup truck then rolled over on the roadway. Rodgers was taken to St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham. She was ticketed for improper lane usage and for not wearing a seatbelt. The crash occurred at 3:20 Thursday afternoon.
