Three Enter Guilty Pleas in Marion County CourtOne of the three men charged with the July 2013 burglary of the Centralia Food Mart Store on East 15th Street has pleaded guilty to the charge. Cody Roth of West 16th was placed on four years probation and given credit for 180 days served in the Marion County Jail. Restitution will be set at an August 26th hearing. Roth was also ordered to have no contact with the store and undergo drug evaluation, treatment and random testing. He had been identified as being involved in the burglary after allegedly trying to cash in some of the rolls of coins taken from the store at another nearby store.
A 27-year-old Centralia man has pleaded guilty to one of three aggravated battery charges pending against him. William Burgess of North Beech was accused in all three of committing an aggravated battery to a child under 13. He pled guilty to the charge that accused him of grabbing the child by the hand and forcing the boy to strike himself repeatedly in his own eye and face. Burgess was sentenced to three years probation, given credit for 38 days served in jail, ordered not to reside in any residence with a person under the age of 18, to sustain from drugs and alcohol and attend anger counseling.
A 36-year-old Centralia man has pleaded guilty to domestic battery. Benjamin Webster of East Rexford in Centralia admitted to striking Rachel Ashlock in the face with his hands. He was placed on two years probation, given credit for 22 days served in jail. Charges of resisting arrest and obstructing identification were dropped as part of the plea.
