State Senator Kyle McCarter Begins Virtual Office Hours Thursday
McCarter stated in a press release Wednesday that when possible, he hopes to be at the satellite locations in person. However, when the Senate is in session or his schedule does not allow, he will be sending a member of his office to set up and conduct the video conference using a computer.
The Senator will have virtual office hours at State Representative John Cavaletto's office at 1370 West Main Street, Suite A in Salem on the first and third Thursday of every month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Office hours will be held on the first and third Tuesday of every month at Carlyle City Hall, located at 850 Franklin Street in Carlyle.
Office hours will be held at the Nashville City Hall, located at 190 North East Court Street in Nashville on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month, and at Senator McCarter's office at 310 West Gallatin in Vandalia on the second and fourth Thursday of every month. All hours will be held between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Offices will be closed on state holidays.
He says the new office hours are not replacing his regular office hours at the Vandalia office, but it's an attempt to have communications with constituents across a large district that time and distance might normally prohibit. The 54th District comprises all or part of Bond, Clinton, Effingham, Fayette, Madison, Marion, St. Clair and Washington counties.
The videoconferencing schedule will also be posted on Senator McCarter's legislative website at www.senatormccarter.com under the Contact Us tab. You can also call the Vandalia District Office at 618-283-3000.
