State Fair Gun Show Features Some Of Guns Governor Wants Banned
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - As Gov. Pat Quinn and other Illinois Democrats vow to pursue a statewide ban on assault weapons, some of those same guns are on sale this weekend at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield.According to ads for the weekend gun show, some of the brands that could be affected by a state or federal ban are being offered for sale at the state-owned facility. The (Decatur) Herald & Review reports the event is taking place as officials who favor stricter gun control laws in other states are debating whether to ban such gun shows from public property.
The gun show at the fairgrounds features weapons made by Ruger, Glock, Beretta and several other brands that could be affected by a state or federal ban.
