St. Peter Boy Killed in Car-Bicycle AccidentA 15-year-old St. Peter boy has died in a car-bicycle accident that occurred early Friday morning.
State Police say Nathan Horath was traveling eastbound in the right lane of State Route 185 a mile east of St. Peter when he was struck by an eastbound car driven by 59-year-old Sandra Gelsinger of Brownstown. Horath was ejected from the bicycle upon impact. He was pronounced dead on the scene by Fayette County Coroner Bruce Bowen. Gelsinger was taken to the Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia for treatment of apparent minor injuries.
State Police report it was dark and rainy at the time. The investigation into the accident is continuing. State Police were assisted at the scene by the Fayette County Sheriff's Department, St. Peter Police and Fire, and the Farina Fire Department.
