South College Street Work In Salem Shutdown Due to Threat of Rain

The City of Salem shut down resurfacing on South College Street early on Thursday due to the threat of rain.  Public Works Director John Pruden says a base layer was installed on South College from Lake to McMackin Street Thursday morning before the project was halted.

Weather permitting, final surface will be applied on Friday.  South College will be closed to through traffic from Lake to McMackin Street at seven Friday morning for the work.  With possible delays, residents will be allowed access to their driveways.

Meanwhile, South College Street has been reopened for the remainder of the day today.
