Shobonier Man Jailed For Ramming Parked PickupA 24-year-old Shobonier man has been arrested for felony criminal damage to property after allegedly intentionally crashing into the rear of a pickup truck.
Marion County Sheriff's Deputies say Joshua Weaver went down the driveway of the Brian Thompson home on West Vine Street in Vernon Sunday afternoon and crashed into the rear of his pickup truck causing heavy damage. Weaver then allegedly sped away, with Thompson chasing him in his truck. Thompson eventually gave up.
Weaver told deputies he was the actual victim and that his truck was rammed by Thompson as he was chasing him. Deputies discounted Weaver's version of the story because Thompson's pickup had only damage to the rear and none to the front end that would indicate Thompson had hit Weaver's truck.
Several witnesses also confirmed Thompson's version of the story.
The two men have had problems in the past.
