Sheriff's Department Process Server Retires

The Marion County Sheriff's Department process server for the past 16 years is retiring.  

William 'Pudge' Stachowski is spending his last day on the job Friday.  He'll be replaced by Paul Williams of Salem who is being promoted from a part-time correctional officer position at the jail.  

Stachowski's advice to his replacement is to 'work hard, stay after it every day and be presistant'.  He notes most people are cooperative when he needs to serve papers, but there have been a few tough cases every once in a while.  

Stachowski has no big plans in retirement other than to enjoy life.  Stachowski is also a former Mayor of Junction City.  He served in that role from 1981 to 1985.
