Second Body Near I-64 Identified in Washington County
10/12/2012 @ 12:35 PMWashington County officials have identified a second man found dead along Interstate 64 near Okawville. Authorities say the body is that of 47-year-old Darryl Jackson of St. Louis. No details have been released on how Jackson may have died, but the case is being investigated as a homicide. Jackson's body was found by State workers on Tuesday. The discovery comes three weeks after the body of 29-year-old Kelvin Swingler of St. Louis was found in the same area on September 23rd. He had been missing since August when his mother reported he failed to return home. Authorities say Swingler died as a result of three gunshot wounds to the head before his body was apparently dumped along I-64. Washington County officials, Illinois State Police, and St. Louis Police are all investigating the two deaths.
