Sandoval Fight Leads to Police Chase
A call to a large fight at a Sandoval bar early Sunday morning later turned into a police chase that ended with two arrests. Marion County Sheriff's Deputies say they were called to assist Sandoval Police when a fight broke out on the parking lot of Crossroads Bar.Central City Police later stopped a car seen leaving the area to question the occupants. While waiting for a computer check of the occupants, the driver of the car, 20-year-old Carolyn Albert of Dover Street in Centralia, allegedly fled the scene. Centralia and Central City Police along with a sheriff's deputy gave chase. Albert allegedly led police on a chase that wound through the west and northwest sides of Centralia. It eventually came to an end when Albert drove down a dead end portion of Monroe Street.
While Albert stayed with the vehicle, a passenger later identified as 21-year-old Mark McCormick of Dover Street in Centralia allegedly fled on foot into a wooded area. McCormick was eventually stopped when tased by a sheriff's deputy.
Albert was arrested for alleged driving under the influence, reckless driving and aggravated fleeing or eluding police. McCormick is being held on outstanding Marion, Washington and Jackson County warrants as well as for resisting arrest. Both remain in the Marion County Jail pending a first appearance in court on Monday.
