Salem Woman Wins Second 4H Showmanship AwardThe winner of this year's 4-H Super Showmanship Award is Rhiannon Branch of Iuka. Branch won out in a close competition in showing beef, swine, and sheep on Sunday after winning the beef showmanship award on Saturday.
"It was really difficult because we had less than 24 hours to work with the other species and bring [them] into the ring. I know it was hard for me, having not been around any sheep or hogs of my own...going from leading a cattle with a halter to hitting a pig with a whip is very difficult. I know it was difficult for the other two [competitors] as well" said Branch of her victory.
This is the second time Branch has won the showmanship award.
Johnathan McConnaughay of Iuka won the tractor driving competition at the fair on Sunday. Both are now eligible to advance to state competition.
