Salem Township Supervisor Asks For Discovery Recount In Two Vote LossSalem Township Supervisor Gene Bailey who lost his re-election bid by two votes has asked for a discovery recount.
Marion County Clerk Steve Fox says the recount will take place at ten Wednesday morning. Fox reports Bailey selected Salem Precincts seven and eight for the discovery recount. He's seeking to review voter applications, affidavids, as well as the ballots. Fox says as part of the process, the votes from the two precincts will be counted again.
Fox says regardless of what Bailey finds, he can go to court to try and overturn the election results. Bailey has until the end of May to file any court action. He lost to Republican challenger Richard Gregg 544 to 542 in the April ninth election.
