Salem Teen Hurt In One Vehicle WreckA 16-year-old Salem woman was injured in a single car crash early Monday night on the West Boone Street Extension east of Woodard School Road northwest of Salem.
Marion County Sheriff's Deputies say Ashton Patton of Tonti Road ran off the pavement, overcorrected, crossed the roadway, and hit a utility pole. Patton was transported to Salem Township Hospital for treatment. While the wreck did not cause the power lines to fall onto the road, there were fears they could fall.
As a result, the Marion County Emergency Services and Disaster Agency directed traffic off the road for nearly two hours Monday night. The wreck occurred at 5:03 Monday afternoon.
